Just a week after nine people lost their lives during a massacre at Umpqua Community College in Oregon, another shooting took place at Northern Arizona University Friday morning. The institution took to Facebook to share the news. “Four people were shot at the Northern Arizona University campus in Flagstaff, AZ, early Friday. According to the Northern Arizona University Police Department, the four victims included one dead, and three wounded. The shooter is in custody. Campus is not lockdown,” they posted. “The three victims are being treated at Flagstaff Medical Center. The incident took place outside Mountain View Hall on the northeast end of the Flagstaff Campus. The first call of shots fired came in at 1:20 a.m. NAUPD is working on the investigation with the Flagstaff Police Department at the scene. More details will be released as they are forthcoming.” According to the Everytown for Gun Safety organization, this is the third campus shooting that has taken place since last week’s Oregon massacre. Read more.


Vice President Joe Biden to Possibly Enter Presidential Race

Vice President Joe Biden might possibly enter the presidential race. According to reports, Biden’s representatives met with some of the Democratic National Committee staff, insinuating that he might run. The staffers reportedly went over the rules that Biden would need to follow if he were to enter the race. They were briefed on the primary calendar, issues concerning access to ballots, and deadlines for filing. “They probably thought they had a lot longer,” said a DNC source. “The deadlines for qualifying on the ballots for key states haven’t passed yet, but are fast approaching.” In the past, the DNC has held meetings with other Democratic candidates that include Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, Martin O’Malley, Jim Webb, and Lincoln Chafee. Sanaa Lathan Nabs Lead Role in New FOX Series

Actress Sanaa Lathan has nabbed a lead role in a new FOX series. The show, which hasn’t been given a name yet, will focus on the racial tensions in a Tennessee community after a Black police officer kills a White teenager. Lathan will star as an investigator who delves into the case. The series will be written by Reggie Rock Bythewood and Gina Prince-Bythewood, who is also the woman behind Love & Basketball. It will be directed by Prince-Bythewood and executive produced by Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo. Read more.
