Thursday’s award for most awkward moment goes to political commentator and conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham, who did this at the end of her Wednesday night speech:
Yes. The motion looks very similar to the “Sieg Heil!” gesture used by Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and his supporters. And Twitter did what it does best, take notice:
Ingraham was riding high until twitter users pointed it out. Conservatives used her speech as the prime example of what a RNC 2016 speaker should do, endorse Donald Trump with sweeping praise — which was the exact opposite route Ted Cruz took later in the evening.
The Obama Diaries author finally responded to the accusations and broke her silence Thursday morning:
