Jeronimo Yanez, the Minnesota police officer who killed Philando Castile during a traffic stop last year, was found not guilty of second-degree manslaughter Friday.
He also was acquitted of two counts of intentional discharge of firearm that endangers safety.
Castile was shot and killed inside his car during a traffic stop. His girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds fimed the shooting on Facebook Live. Castile had told the officer he had a gun and said he wasn’t reaching for the weapon, which he had a permit to carry.
In the video above, Castile’s mother expresses her anger in the verdict.
