Looks like the Wizards search for a replacement for Ernie Grunfeld will continue.

Denver Nuggets President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly will remind with the team, thus turning down a reported four-year offer to join the Washington Wizards.

ESPN NBA Insider Adian Wojnarowski reported the news on Monday.

Connelly met with Wizards brass including team owner Ted Leonsis on Friday. Afterward, Wizards reportedly offered a four-year deal to become President of Basketball Operations for the team.

Oklahoma City Thunder’s Troy Weaver, former Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers GM Danny Ferry and Wizards interim GM Tommy Sheppard are rumored contenders for the job.

Connelly is a Baltimore native who started his career with the Wizards in 1996 as a video coordinator. He became the assistant GM in New Orleans in 2010. His wife is also from the Washington D.C. region. After joining the Nuggets in 2013, Connelly played a big role in the rebuild after the Carmelo Anthony, drafting of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray and Paul Millsap in free agency.
