NBC Sports Washington’s Brian McNally joins B-mitch and Scott Linn after the Washington Capitals and Nicklas Backstrom agreed to a five-year $46M extension. McNally also recounts how excited Backstrom was for Alexander Ovechkin when he signed his 13-year deal back in 2008. He breaks down their relationship on and off the ice and suggests that they both may possibly end their careers together here in Washington. B-Mitch also asks McNally about the Capitals possibly signing Holtby at the conclusion of the season. McNally doesn’t think the Capitals will be able to grant Holtby the money he may desire.
