The “Cash for Clunkers” deal may be placed in “park” soon. The government is eyeing early September as the time to conclude to the program so dealers don’t continue promising rebates to consumers after the money runs out. Under the program, consumers get up to a $4500 rebate for their gas-guzzling trade-ins.
