U.S. Military Officials confirmed 13 people were killed and 30 wounded in the worst mass shooting at a U.S. military base in history. Authorities say Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, a U.S. citizen with Jordanian parents, opened fired on an unarmed crowd Thursday afternoon at Fort Hood’s Soldier Readiness Center. The center is where soldiers prepare to deploy overseas. Hasan, himself was shot four times by civilian police officer Sgt. Kimberly Munley, who was also wounded. Hasan, 39, once worked at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C., before moving to Fort Hood. Reports today say Hasan is unconscious and on a ventilator but in stable condition. Col. Steven Braverman, hospital said all of the wounded are in stable condition as well. Officials questioned three other people but were released. Authorities are now trying to whether Hasan acted alone or had help.
