Cocaine Found In Carry-Out Chicken At Dulles

Federal agents have found roughly $4,300 worth of cocaine inside a carry-out chicken snack that a Guatemalan man allegedly tried to smuggle into the U.S. through a Washington-area airport, a Customs and Border Protection official said Friday.

The agency has identified the passenger as Wagner Mauricio Linares Aragon, 32, and says he arrived at Dulles International Airport, in Sterling, Va., shortly after midnight Saturday on a flight from El Salvador.

The 2.3 ounces of cocaine found inside the chicken, which Mr. Linares Aragon had in his belongings, was discovered during a secondary inspection, according to the agency.

“Officers have seen many unique narcotics concealment methods, and they all present the same challenges to discover them, said Christopher Hess, director of the agency’s Port of Washington.

The agency turned over Mr. Linares Aragon and the cocaine to the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. It also issued a detainer on Mr. Linares Aragon.

Agency spokesman Steve Sapp said Mr. Linares Aragon is a Guatamala citizen and had a visa to enter the U.S.
