Council Chair Wants Answers From Schools Chancellor Regarding Sex Claims

(Washington, DC) — DC Council Chair Vincent Gray says he wants answers from Schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee after Rhee made some serious claims in a recent magazine interview. In the interview with “Fast Company” magazine, Rhee talked about last year’s massive teacher layoffs, and claimed that some of the teachers were let go because they either had sex with students or had abused students physically in class. The head of the Washington Teachers Union says it’s the first time he’s heard of the allegations. Many parents and teachers are saying the same. Council Chair Gray says he plans on meeting with Rhee to talk about the allegations.
