(Lawrence, KS) — An advertisement offering a baby for sale on Craigslist is being called a hoax. Police in Lawrence, Kansas received a phone call Friday from a concerned citizen saying they’d spotted the ad offering a baby for 300 dollars. Detectives discovered there was indeed an ad then found the people who they believe posted it. KMBC-TV says further investigation determined there was no baby involved. Sgt Troy Squire with the Lawrence police department said charges against the people responsible for the hoax are possible. An investigation is still underway.
