WASHINGTON — President Obama will announce his plans to withdraw 33,000 troops from Afghanistan, bringing the number of troops to its lowest total since the USA invaded Afghanistan in 2001.
The U.K. Telegraph reports:
July 22, 2011 – Obama to announce timetable of withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan. Administration officials told the New York Times that Obama would most likely pull out 30,000 troops by the end of 2012.
December 31, 2014 – Agreed date for all 130,000 American, British (numbering approximately 10,000) and coalition troops to withdraw.
