White House Domestic Policy Council Director Melody Barnes spoke on why she decided to leave her position during an “Open for Questions” Q&A session moderated by The Root.
Barnes will leave the White House at the end of the year, she said Thursday.

“I think we have been able to make changes, even though there’s still so much work to be done,” replied Barnes, pointing out the Obama administration’s work on education as something she is particularly proud to have helped shape.
