Zimmerman is charged by the state of Florida with murder in the second degree for the shooting death of unarmed, 17-year-old Trayvon Martin on February 26, 2012.

At Zimmerman’s first hearing on April 12, and at the request of the 28-year-old former neighborhood watch captain’s legal council, Attorney Mark O’ Mara, Judge Mark E. Herr ruled that “any documents filed after the probable-cause affidavit are to be sealed.”

In response, a consortium of media outlets — including The New York Times, the Associated Press and CNN — filed a motion against the sealing order.

The files can be accessed via the 18th Circuit Court’s website: http://www.flcourts18.org/presspublic.html.

As previously reported by Newsone, at Friday morning’s bond hearing, Judge Lester agreed to allow Zimmerman to be released on $150,000 bail. He stipulated that he cannot have any guns and must observe a 7 p.m.-to-6 a.m. curfew. Zimmerman also surrendered his passport, reports the Associated Press. He was released at approximately midnight Sunday from the John D. Polk Correctional Facility. His current destination is being kept secret for his safety.
