On Tuesday, the National Rifle Association (NRA) released an ad with the hopes of taking on the President a day before he released his plans on gun control. And much like NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre‘s foolish suggestion that the solution to school massacres is to begin arming them with police officers, the NRA’s latest ad shows that the embattled group has misfired yet again.

RELATED: President Introduces Federal Gun Control Plan

The 35-second clip begins with an immediate attack on President Obama’s children, Malia and Sasha, asking:

“Are the President’s kids more important than yours? Then why is he skeptical about putting armed security in our schools when his kids are protected by armed guards at their school.”

No one has to be a genius to figure out that the President’s kids — just like Chelsea Clinton, Amy Carter, Barbara and Jenna Bush, and as every other First Kid  — require security due to the nature of their positions.

Still, the NRA must think we are all simple-minded robots to believe that we will follow their faulty logic that equating the security the President’s kids to the security of the nation’s children is equal.

The NRA ad then makes another illogical bullet-riddled leap by calling the President an “elitist hypocrite” who goes around peddling the message that we should all pay our fair share of taxes when his kids supposedly enjoy special privileges:

“Mr. Obama demands the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes but he is just another elitist hypocrite when it comes to a fair share of security.

“Protection for their kids and gun-free zones for ours.”

Watch the ad for yourself here:

I’m going to get straight to the point here.

The NRA has proven itself to be a classless organization hellbent on pushing its agenda no matter who gets randomly killed. To put Malia and Sasha in its cross hairs is both tacky and unethical.

Perhaps the NRA should continue putting out ads like these, because at the rate they are going, they can serve as the final push we need to get both gun control and their organization in check.

Sound off!
