(Maryland) – The minimum wage in two Maryland counties could soon go up thanks to a joint effort. The “Washington Post” reports the Montgomery and Prince George’s County councils both introduced bills Tuesday to increase the minimum wage from seven-dollars-and-25-cents to eleven-50 an hour. Sponsors of the bill say the wage needs to reflect the high cost of living in the area.
