(Culpeper, VA) –Authorities are still searching for a Culpeper man accused of dousing his wife with a flammable liquid, then setting her on fire.  The Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the intersection of Alanthus Road and James Madison Highway at Brandy Station just after 8 p.m. Monday and found the 37-year-old wife of James Anderson suffering from neck and hand burns.  A sheriff’s sergeant tells the “Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star” the victim was driving a car and her husband was in the passenger’s seat when he sprayed the liquid on her.  She was able to stop the car and tried to escape, but investigators say Anderson struck and threw a lit match at his wife while she was doing so.  The woman was treated at the hospital.  The wife’s 12-year-old daughter was sitting in the back and got out of the car before her stepfather apparently got behind the wheel and drove away.  The car is described as a 2009 red Ford Focus with Virginia tags XPK-7089.
