(Washington, DC) — Tens of thousands of government workers in the DC area are bracing for a government shutdown . Nerves are high at federal agencies in downtown DC. Outside the Environmental Protection Agency, workers told Channel 7 they don’t know how they’ll pay their bills. The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association is concerned furloughed workers may not get retroactive pay after the shut down.
