(Gaithersburg, MD) — Gaithersburg residents are being urged to be aware of their surroundings outdoors after the discovery of a Copperhead snake this week. The city’s Animal Control says the reptile turned up early Monday evening on Swanton Lane in the Orchard Park community. Officials say the Copperhead and the Timber Rattlesnake are the only two venomous snakes indigenous to Maryland.
