(Arlington, VA)  — Giving in to widespread and intense pressure, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has voted to build an above ground rail station at Dulles Airport.  With an 11-to-1 vote yesterday, the board reversed a decision made in April to build the new station underground at a significantly greater cost.  Federal officials have made clear an underground station could jeopardize the entire project and local authorities were also upset about the increased cost.
