Washington – Whitman-Walker Health has been recognized as a “Leader in LGBT Healthcare Equality” for the third year in a row in the Healthcare Equality Index 2013, an annual survey conducted by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, the educational arm of the country’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) organization. WWH earned top marks for its commitment to equitable, inclusive care for LGBT patients and their families, who can face significant challenges in securing adequate health care.

“We are honored to once again be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation for our service to the LGBT community,” said Don Blanchon, WWH Executive Director. “For nearly four decades, Whitman-Walker has been committed to providing the highest quality health care for the LGBT community. That commitment will always be at the heart of our health center’s mission.”
