Montgomery County police say if it seems too good to be true, it almost certainly is. ACCORDING TO POLICE A 68-year-old woman and a 77-year-old man have been convinced over the past few weeks to hand over significant amounts of money to people who approached them at the Montrose Crossing Shopping Center in North Bethesda. In the woman’s case, she believed handing over 17-hundred dollars would bring a much greater return while in the man’s case, he thought giving the suspects ten-thousand dollars as a loan would help someone in need. In each case, the suspects walked away and were not seen again.
