VIA WJLA:

In the exclusive interview, Oprah asks about former governor Sarah Palin’s feelings toward Levi Johnston, Katie Couric, and more.

Sarah Palin’s book hits store shelves November 17. First up to promote the big book tour was the queen of daytime talk, Oprah. The just-taped interview will air the day before the book release.

Oprah touches on a wide range of topics, including one of Palin’s fiercest critics: the father of Palin’s new grandchild.

“So one final question about Levi: will he be invited for Thanksgiving dinner?” asked Oprah.

Palin responded with a laugh.

No topic was deemed off limits, including Levi Johnston, teenage daughter Bristol’s ex-boyfriend and father of their infant son. Levi Johnston is a frequent Palin critic, including allegations Palin uses offensive language referring to her son with down syndrome, a charge Palin strongly denies.

“He is a part of the family and you want to bring him in to the fold and kind of under your wing and he needs that too, Oprah. He needs to know that he is loved and has the most beautiful child and this can all work out for good — it really can,” Palin told Oprah.

Palin continued, “We don’t have to keep going down this road of controversy and drama all the time. we don’t really like the drama. We’re more productive and have more things to concentrate on, including…”

Oprah said, “Does that mean he’s coming or not?”

For that answer, you’ll have to watch next week. Another hot topic discussed was another interview with Palin.

Oprah said, “Let’s talk about the interview with Katie Couric.”

Palin laughed and then said, “Must we?”

“You talk about it in the book and I’m assuming everything in the book is fair game,” replied Oprah. “You acknowledge it wasn’t your best interview.”

Later in the interview, Oprah asked, “Did you think that was a seminal defining moment for you?”

“I did not and neither did the campaign and that’s why interview two, three, four, and maybe five was scheduled because the campaign said ‘Right on. You’re showing your independence. This is what America needs to see. And it was a good interview.’ And I’m thinking ‘if you thought that was a good interview, I don’t know what a bad interview was. Because I knew it wasn’t a good interview,'” replied Palin.

But the Oprah interview is one Palin says she felt good about. On her Facebook page she says she enjoyed talking to Oprah Winfrey, going well over the allotted time.

It’s an interview expected to attract millions of viewers. there was fierce competition to see who would get Palin first.
