(Cottage City, MD)  —  A man who reportedly shot his estranged wife on Mother’s Day is expected to survive after an officer opened fire on him.  Prince George’s County Police say 49-year-old Edward McRavin shot his wife at a Family Crisis Center in Brentwood and tried to shoot his ten-year-old son, but his weapon malfunctioned.  She is expected to be okay.  McRavin is under guard at the hospital.
