(Germantown, MD) — Montgomery County Police have identified the man shot and killed by police in Germantown early this morning. Police spokeswoman Lucille Baur says 39-year-old Eliodoro Hernandez was shot after police responded to a 911 hangup on Eagles Nest Court.
Police say the fatal shot was fired by Officer Jesse Dickensheets, who has been with the department for five-years. The other responding officer is identified as two-year veteran Ana Hester. Police say a gun and a knife were found near Hernandez’ body. The gun is a BB pellet repeater air pistol which is a replica of an authentic semi-automatic handgun. The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on routine administrative leave. No one else was hurt.
