Days after Forbes columnist Gene Marks wrote the highly controversial and viral “If I Were A Poor Black Kid” article, numerous pundits and opinion leaders from around the Web have weighed in.

Writer and Director of Digital for The Onion, Baratunde Thurston offered a satirical retort, underhandedly accusing Marks of being out of touch with his assumptions.
On Thursday, Marks responded to Thurston:
What do I know about being a “poor black kid?” Absolutely nothing. I’m a middle class white guy. But I went to school. So I know about that. And I’m in the business of technology. So I know about that.
