The Uncle Devin Show
The Uncle Devin Show is an interactive musical experience for children that uses percussion instruments to cultivate their minds – a dynamic cross between DC’s Trouble Funk and Schoolhouse. Uncle Devin’s talk show provides parents, teachers and guardians of children of African descent with the tools necessary to help them take control of their children’s music listening experience. Interviews will include award-winning artists, teachers, librarians and other experts in the field of child development.
Children of African descent are being musically neglected and ignored. There is no national radio children’s music programming in the African (Black) community. Today’s children’s music genre caters to the dominant culture, which predominantly plays folk and pop music.
Uncle Devin will provide information on age and culturally appropriate children’s music of different genres beyond the mainstream, to include Hip-Hop, Funk, Jazz, Go-Go, Reggae and more.
